Brenna Lorek
MBA Mentorship
CASE WESTERN RESERVE UNIVERSITY
About Me: |
My name is Brenna Lorek and I am currently the Community Programming Coordinator for the Greater Cleveland Sports Commission. I received my MBA with a concentration in Athletic Administration from Tiffin University in April 2023, with a 3.9 GPA. In May 2021, I received my Bachelor of Arts in Sport Management and a minor in Coaching from Notre Dame College. While pursuing my undergraduate degree, I was a member on the Women's Softball Team, maintaining a valuable 3.5 GPA and consistently appeared on the dean's list each semester. I have had a great passion for sports my entire life and plan to continue dedicating this passion towards others and in my career.
This website is dedicated toward my time interning with Case Western Reserve University in the Athletic Department. Professional GoalsMy main goal is to be an Athletic Director in the future. I aspire to take my passion and experience in sports and to help lead athletes in the direction that is meant for them. Another goal is to become a figure in either a school or athletic community, while also contributing to youth sports programs. There are many young athletes looking to fulfill their dreams of being a collegiate or professional athlete one day and I would love to guide them towards reaching it.

Work Plan:
I will be accompanying the Athletic Director and other professionals in the athletic department at Case Western Reserve University.
Expected Learning Outcomes: My expected goals from this internship are to understand how an athletic department is ran. There are many different people contributing to the overall success of how the department controls their many athletic teams, budgets, marketing operations, and facility operations. I also expect to get a deeper idea of how fundraising, donations, and partnerships fall in place for Case Western Reserve Athletics.
General Hours: Work hours will generally be 10am to 3pm, Monday through Friday. If there are events happening on campus at times not relevant to my hours, then they may adjust as I will be assisting. There may also be a few days where I work a shift around 4pm to 8pm in order to learn how to shut down the facilities with the closing managers.
Compensation: No compensation. I will be working another job on the side.
Main Responsibilities: My main responsibilities are going to include working on various projects, facility operations, oversee the student staff, marketing and promotions, updating/reviewing the athletic department policies and being a general assistant to the athletic department.
Specific Goals: Specific goals I have for myself include getting a greater comprehension of the types of internet services used to manage different factors of the department. My main goal is to extend my knowledge regarding the expectations for an Athletic Director and their department. I believe this internship is going to give me the experience I need to benefit my future towards managing athletics.
